The Kiha 58 and 28 are air-conditioned cars with flat windows, no snowplows, and shutter-equipped typhoons, while the KiRo 28 is a raised-roof type car completed between 1964 and 1965. The Kiha 65 wheels are fitted with parts that resemble disc brakes, giving the car a more realistic undercarriage. The 0 series, designed for warm climates with slit-type typhoons, is also available.
The product is set in the mid-1970s, during the Japan National Railways era. It recreates the H-rubber gray look.
The front through door section of the lead car is recreated as a canopy frame, and a through door can be installed if desired.
All cars except the KiRo 28 have illuminated head/tail lights and front display curtains (with a switch to turn them off). Warm-colored LEDs are used.
The couplers are body-mounted, self-coupling couplers. A body support with a recreated air hose is also included as an accessory part.
All cars are equipped with AU13E air conditioners.
The interior seats are dark blue for ordinary cars and maroon for the KiRo 28, recreating the difference between ordinary cars and green cars.
The front display is pre-printed with "Express." A replacement blank front display is included.
Includes stickers featuring signs, destination signs, and more.
[Set Contents] Body support, stickers, through-hole hood, jumper plug, replacement full-front display.
