During the Edo period, they were primarily worn by doctors and intellectuals who didn't perform physical labor. ■How to tie an Etchu fundoshi: (1) Hang the fundoshi around your waist and tie the strings in front of your stomach. (2) Pass the fabric hanging from your waist through your crotch and bring it toward your stomach. (3) Pass the fabric around your stomach through the strings from bottom to top, letting it hang in front. Care Instructions: Wash by hand in plenty of water. Avoid soaking.
