Tarps are very flexible compared to tents and other shelters. If you think of them simply as a roof, you can set them up on any surface and you can even make a bonfire. They can also be set up in a variety of different ways depending on the situation. For this reason, bivouac tarps have utility loops in the center of each side and at each of the four corners. Tarps can be used effectively in mountain streams and forests as shelters that allow you to feel the most primitive breath of the earth. Bivouac tarps are not waterproofed with seam tape. Please waterproof them with a seam coat or similar.
