This is a collection of works by Russian photographer Irina Rozovsky.
This collection of works captures lyrical portraits of Brooklyn's Prospect Park, seen through the photographer's lens. People come to the park to escape the hustle and bustle of New York City.
The idea for this work originated about 10 years ago, when the photographer was riding a small motorboat on the pond south of the park. As she drifted on the water and gazed out at the tree-lined shore, she saw a mirage of families, lovers, friends, and people of various cultures and races sharing the same place and moment.
The panoramic American melting pot of races was a tangible reality in this space where everyone is equal. The photographer's color photographs capture the intersection of city and nature, presenting the park as a democratic public space that enriches people's hearts. There, the landscape and seasons provide a backdrop of diversity to the complex realities of society.
