He became the tea ceremony magistrate of the Matsudaira clan of Iyo, traveled to Nagasaki, and devoted himself to the development of Urasenke tea ceremony, interacting with not only daimyo but also merchants. This volume commemorates his life through his legacy, favorite utensils, tea ceremonies, and favorite sweets.
