Located deep in the mountains of Yamanaka Onsen in Ishikawa Prefecture, Shirasagi Woodworks has been crafting everyday tableware, including circular wooden bowls, trays, and round trays, centered around the traditional craft of Yamanaka lacquerware. For three generations, the company has been crafting these items, including circular wooden bowls, trays, and round trays.
Craftsmen with highly skilled lathe skills are on staff, and they are one of the few companies responsible for purchasing and processing raw wood, accounting for 50% of the raw materials used in Yamanaka lacquerware, which is made from natural wood. Using only domestically sourced wood, the company handles everything from cutting the logs to finishing sawing.
Using a "vertical wood" sawing method, the beautiful wood grain is revealed, resulting in a natural finish that allows customers to enjoy the wood's texture. The design complements both Japanese and Western cuisine. The small size is just right for children. The thicker cut on the bottom inside stabilizes the center of gravity and reduces spills.
While individual products may vary, the color and grain cannot be specified.
