[Nara Brush Master Akashiya]
To craft these brushes, we select from over 10 types of animal hair that are just the right balance of soft and hard and absorb ink well. The quality of the brush varies depending on the species of animal, the time of collection, and the part of the body where the hair is from.
The brush-making technique of skillfully combining a wide variety of hair types based on elasticity, strength, length, etc. is the result of many years of experience and research by our brush masters.
This, combined with traditional techniques, allows us to continue producing Nara brushes with exquisitely finished tips.
