This fully redesigned product is a must-have for recreating various railway scenes: the new 12 Series passenger car of the Japanese National Railways. The differences in form seen in each series have been carefully considered, allowing you to enjoy a more realistic 12 Series passenger car. You can create a train consisting of only 12 Series cars, or combine it with your existing freight trains or 24 Series passenger cars to recreate the express trains of yesteryear.
The 12 series passenger cars were manufactured between 1969 and 1978. They were express-style seating passenger cars capable of a maximum speed of 110km/h. They were equipped with underfloor diesel generator-powered air conditioning and other features comparable to those of electric trains and diesel railcars of the time, and served as the basis for the new passenger cars that were introduced later, starting with the 14 series.
