■ A gem of a classic car album for car-loving readers in their 40s, 60s, and even 70s who lived through the Showa era. ■
The concept is "Looking back at the classic cars that powered the Showa era."
The book is based on the 2020 edition of "The Complete Collection of Showa's Classic Cars, Volumes 1 and 2." Based on this, the book significantly expands the number of pages and adds cars that were omitted. The text has also been reorganized and the photos have been enhanced.
The previously published Vol. 1 (on sale April 3, 2023) covered classic cars that appeared between 1955 and 1980. This latest edition, Vol. 2, covers classic cars from 1981 to 1988, known as the "Golden Showa Period," leading up to the Heisei era.
In addition, columns between each decade trace the history of Japan's motorization and the development of domestically produced cars. Not only is this album-like volume packed with content, but it can also be enjoyed as a reading material, looking back on the era and serving as a "Showa Famous Car Chronicle."
The binding, with inserts and endpapers before and after the frontispiece and a dust jacket, creates a luxurious hardcover package worthy of a "complete collector's edition."
