Description Based on Oligodynamic Effect, crafted fromBrass. Trace copper ions are steadily released into still water. The bottom supports maximize contact surface between copper and water. Copper ions inhibit bacteria and algae development by breaking their cell structure, preventing algae bloom, bad odor and turbid water. Chemical-free and power-free. Simply place it in water for long-lasting purification. Low-concentration copper ions are safe for wild birds. Not a filter. It cannot clear bird droppings, leaves and other solid waste. Regular cleaning and water replacement are still necessary. Dissolution rate of copper ions is affected by water temperature and pH. Better antibacterial performance can be achieved in warm water environments.
After using this product, it is recommended to clean the product and bird water tank at least once a week.
Best suited for ceramic, resin, plastic and stone bird baths. Avoid long-term use in cast iron, galvanized or aluminum metal basins. Different metals may cause galvanic corrosion and reduce purification performance. It works well in copper or brass basins.
