Merrell's uniquely developed air cushion midsole is designed to absorb strong impacts to the heel and maintain stable walking. When pressure is applied to the heel, the air cushion compresses, absorbing impacts of up to four times the body weight. Because it cups up the heel and sets it in the center, it exhibits excellent functionality that prevents fatigue even during long walks. Since it is not bag-shaped or capsule-shaped, there is no risk of bursting. The upper material has excellent water repellency and quick-drying properties. It uses PITTARDS® WR100 material, a representative material of Pittards, a British company. Each fiber is treated with a special water-repellent coating and is designed to evaporate moisture through tiny, invisible holes. It is a top-quality material that protects against rain, wind, and dust from the outside, while allowing sweat inside the foot to escape and maintaining a comfortable state. It is highly resistant to dirt and its texture can be maintained by brushing or wiping with a cloth. The Celldia insole, developed by Kuraray, offers superior antibacterial and deodorizing properties. It absorbs and eliminates unpleasant odors inside the shoe, and its antibacterial treatment keeps it clean for extended periods. It also provides excellent shock absorption while walking thanks to its soft cushioning. To maintain its antibacterial and deodorizing properties, it is best stored in a bright place. Available in US and Japanese sizes. Brand Introduction:
In the 1970s, Randy Merrell, the founder of MERRELL, began making custom-made boots in Vernal, Utah. Having grown up surrounded by the outdoors, his boots gained nationwide popularity, and in 1981, they were selected as "the most functional and comfortable shoes in North America" by Backpacker Magazine. Two outdoor enthusiasts who saw this article invited Randy Merrell to join them, and they established MERRELL, a new company dedicated to boots. By improving the production process, MERRELL continued to develop outdoor shoes while maintaining the appeal of "shoes that don't tire your feet even after wearing them for a long time." In 1998, they released the "Jungle Moc," which became a hugely popular classic model. This marked a turning point, and MERRELL expanded its field beyond outdoor sports to mountains, cities, and all kinds of outdoor spaces. Furthermore, in 2001, the "Chameleon" series was released, and five years later, cumulative sales of 10 million pairs worldwide surpassed 10 million pairs. Since then, they have developed a diverse range of lines that are loved by a wide range of users, from trekkers to outdoor festival-goers, and are currently sold in 135 countries worldwide, with annual sales exceeding 16 million pairs.
The rounded form does not constrict the toes. The highly cushioned midsole reduces fatigue.
