Soseki and Ryokan

In his later years, Soseki was passionately captivated by Ryokan's calligraphy and poetry. This book traces the trajectory of the lives and thoughts of these two men, and argues that Soseki's "Nozomi Kishiki" (the pursuit of the selfless and the rule of heaven) would not have been possible without studying Ryokan's philosophy.
