Product Introduction
Fine Molds 1/72 Jet Aircraft Series: Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-104J Fighter "Battle Competition" Plastic Model FX07
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) held unit-wide combat competitions to improve the skills of not only fighter pilots but also air traffic controllers.
In the 1980s, as inter-aircraft aerial combat training with the F-4EJ became more active, many F-104s appeared with "special paintwork" that went beyond standard camouflage.
Their distinctive appearance captured the hearts of aviation enthusiasts.
This kit includes markings to recreate the "202nd Squadron," which participated in the 1980 combat competition, and the "207th Squadron," which participated in the 1984 competition.
The 202nd Squadron's aircraft in particular stand out with their unique paintwork, similar to the "maritime camouflage" that would later be adopted on the F-2.
Crafted from a completely new mold, the fuselage features a split design along the panel lines.
In addition to ease of assembly, we aimed for a precise finish.
The razor-sharp wings and air intakes are molded as thin as possible to recreate the look of the actual aircraft.
This product is a plastic model that requires assembly and painting.
Assembly and painting require the use of adhesives, tools, paint, etc. (sold separately).
"Plastic Model" is a registered trademark of the Japan Plastic Model Industrial Cooperative.
This product does not include adhesives, paints, tools, or batteries.
