Among the many percussion instruments, the djembe has garnered high popularity for its vibrant sound, wide range, and convenient size. Often used for street performances and cheering at sports events, it's an instrument that beginners often pick up.

This book is an introductory guide for those just starting out on the djembe. Unlike existing instructional books, however, it isn't a book that focuses on the djembe's folk music roots. Like the previous book in the series, "Start Your Cajon Textbook," this book is aimed at people with no musical experience whatsoever, teaching them the joy of the djembe, how to produce basic sounds, and practice methods to master various rhythms.

The accompanying CD contains practice audio for the instructional portion. Not only can you listen to the sheet music, but there's also content for practicing along with the CD.
