Nausicaä, who lives in the Valley of the Wind, communicates with the giant insects known as Ohmu, which people despise, and seeks to uncover the mysteries of the toxic forest called the "Coral Sea," home to these massive creatures. One day, a giant transport plane crashes in the Valley of the Wind, shortly followed by the invasion of the army from the western kingdom of Torumekia.
